Design
With inspiration drawn from the gemstone, the client's story or the world around her, Jilian's ideas are born in her sketchbook. From there, the potential for storytelling with hand-engraving, secret hidden details, a nod to Mother Nature or some fabulous colour and contrast are a common focus.
Creation
The production stage is always hands-on with equal parts art and science. Depending on the project, the pieces are mapped out digitally or carved by-hand in wax. Once a model has been created, it moves through the casting and polishing stages in preparation for the stones to be set by our favourite local setting wizard. We revel in the contrast between the grittiness of the craft and the refined beauty of the finished piece!
